RE: What is a good Warranty Company to use for 5th Wheels?

"Good Extended Warranty Company" is an oxymoron. There is no such thing as a good one. They are all insurance companies and only they profit. I have been with two that were supposedly "good" and both hung me out to dry on large repair bills.

RE: Generator in the basement?

Generators in any RV are required, by law, to be in a metal fireproof enclosure that is properly vented with an external exhaust pipe. What he is doing is very dangerous! He can get carbon monoxide fumes (the silent killer) inside the coach and the gasoline fumes can be ignited that will cause a major fire. Encourage him to cease the practice before it is too late!

RE: Need Suggestions oncampgrounds in Branson MO

We have camped at several places in Branson and ABC(America's Best Campground)is our favorite. They sell tickets and have discounts to most shows. It is quiet and very nice people run it.

RE: Top of the World Highway is it narrow

I am like The Texan, we made the drive last year with the rig in my signature, and I saw no place that was narrow enough for me to be concerned. I only pulled over once at a pullout to let a tour bus pass as he seemed to be in a bigger hurry than we were. I say go for it, take your time and enjoy the scenery. 98% of the TOTW is wide enough for anything and the 2%, just use common sense.

RE: Axel shocks or not?

There is an old rule....if it is round. black and rolls on a road, it should have shocks and be balanced.

RE: Kansas/Oklahoma border

The one we use when traveling through that area is Oasis RV Park near South Haven, KS. Take Exit 4 (Hwy 166) off I-35 and go west 1/4 mile. It is a Passport America park if you are a member. They have WiFi but no shade. Good, large sites. Phone # is 620-892-5115.

RE: Escapees RV Club

DarkRubiTJ, that was an excellent response! As a longtime member, I have yet to find a true negative about the Escapees. It is a first class organization. I cannot say the same about Good Sam and FMCA.

As a general rule, they are isolated from the antenna circuit.

RE: XM Radio Question

You have to have an antenna. Just buy an extra car kit and use the same XM radio for both.

RE: Trash Can Turkey Dilemma

As Johnna says, this is the way I do it and I have been cooking trash can turkeys for a long time. Just throw in some firewood and let it burn for a couple of hours. I like mesquite since it burns very hot. After the trash can cools, give it a good scrubbing with soap and water and it's ready to cook with.

RE: selling RV

If it is like most of the companies that have such a deal, you will get about half of what your RV is worth.

RE: Refrigerator Odors

Another method that works is to roughly crush about a cup of charcoal, not the self lighting kind, and place it in the fridge for two or three days with the door closed.

RE: What can we bring in, ie; beef, pork, chicken, eggs, fruit?

You never know what they are going to check, if anything at all. It varies from enty point to entry point. We crossed the border numerous times last year and none of the places asked about any food item. A couple of years ago it was chicken and certain dog foods. Just go and do not worry about it.
